1. What cookies are and who sets them
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser; the browser's local and session storage work similarly. They are set by us ("first-party") and — only with your consent — by Google Analytics. Storing or accessing data on your device is governed by Article 225 of the Slovenian Electronic Communications Act (ZEKom-2): essential cookies need no consent, all others do.
2. Your choice
On your first visit we show a banner with two equal options, Accept analytics and Essential only. Before you choose, no analytics cookies are set and no Google components are loaded. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page: the banner reappears and "Essential only" withdraws the consent — withdrawal is as easy as consent. Refusing does not limit the use of the website or the account.

The staff administration environment uses a separate session cookie on a separate address; it does not concern visitors. We use no other cookies, no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking; newsletters contain no tracking images or tracked links.
4. Embedded third-party services (no cookies until you interact)
- Maps in the directories: when you click "Map", your browser loads tiles from the OpenStreetMap Foundation servers (they set no cookies; they receive your IP address). The map library is loaded from our own server.
- Videos on breed pages: we show only a button with the video title (no image from a third-party server); only on click does the YouTube player (cookie-free domain until playback) or Vimeo (with tracking switched off where the provider allows it) load, and it may set its own cookies under its own rules.
5. What Google Analytics collects
Pages viewed, events (e.g. search), approximate location from the truncated IP address, device and browser type and a random identifier from the cookie. The IP address is anonymised and advertising features (ad storage, personalisation) are switched off. Your account pages are excluded from measurement. 6. Mobile app
The official Živalce app, when and if we publish it, uses no cookies. On the device it keeps the session token in the system's secure storage, and your settings and a cache of public content in a local database; it has no built-in analytics or crash reporting.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; if you block essential cookies, sign-in and language selection do not work.
8. Changes
We update the table whenever the tools change. The version and date are shown at the top.
