Upper Carniola Shelties is a Slovenian Shetland Sheepdog kennel run by Natalija Tomažič in Jesenice (Cesta Bratov Stražišarjev 7a). The name refers to Upper Carniola and the Upper Sava Valley, where the kennel comes from; the wish to breed grew with the arrival of the Sheltie Jolina, with the aim of introducing the breed to a wider Slovenian public. The kennel attends seminars on health and genetics and breeds healthy dogs of stable temperament; its website presents the pedigrees and show results of the breeding dogs, and puppies go to family homes with which the kennel stays in touch for advice and help. All puppies get early socialisation and training. The kennel is reachable by phone every day from 9.00 to 22.00.
